Craft and tradition
Brewing
Brewed at Scourmont Abbey with water from its wells, Chimay Triple is a top-fermented, bottle-conditioned beer. After cold maturation, sugar and fresh yeast are added before transfer to the separate bottling site at Baileux. Secondary fermentation then takes place in a temperature-controlled room for 21 days.
The 33 cl bottle carries the white label. The 75 cl format was launched in 1986 for the 500th anniversary of the principality of Chimay, hence the name “Cinq Cents”. A light yeast deposit is natural in this bottle-conditioned beer.
